13-Year-Old Girl Missing In Wisconsin After Parents Found Dead

October 15, 2018 - 4:36 pm

(WWJ) Authorities in Wisconsin are searching for an "endangered missing" 13-year-old girl after her parents were found dead.

According to the Barron County Sheriff’s Department, a 911 call came just before 1 a.m. Monday, from at a home at 268 Hwy. 8, west of the city of Barron, in northwest Wisconsin.

Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald said when deputies arrived on scene they found the bodies of two adult victims. A third resident, Jayme Lynn Closs, was missing.

There are no suspects, Fitzgerald said, and "a lot of unknowns" at this time.

"That's the confusing part about this case is we don't have any leads at this time on what really took place at that house,"  Fitzgerald said, updating reporters on the case, Monday afternoon. "I can tell you that there's two victims, gunshots are involved. I'm not ready to rule how they died at this time."

The focus of the case now, he said, is finding Closs, described as 5 feet tall and around 100 lbs, with strawberry blonde hair and green eyes.

"We've searched the area around the residents to make sure she didn't just run outside, go into the woods," Fitzgerald said. "We've used drones, we've used infrared...we've searched the schools, we've met with her friends, we're working very closely with the Barron Riverview Middle School where she attends school."

Fitzgerald said he is hoping someone in the public has seen the teen.

"Right now she's 'missing and endangered' -- she's not listed as a suspect," Fitzgerald said,  and as of now our focus is in finding a 13-year-old scared girl."

Anyone who has seen this missing teen, has been in contact with her or who may have information about this case is asked to call the Barron County Sheriff’s Department at 715-537-3106  or dial 911 immediately.
