14-Year-Old Boy Shot On Detroit's West Side

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are searching for the gunman who shot and injured a 14-year-old boy on the city's west side.

The shooting happened around 1 a.m. Friday in the 3000 block of Sturtevant, between Dexter and Linwood. 

Police say the victim and the suspect were arguing when the suspect produced a gun and shot the teen in the lower back. Other circumstances surrounding the shooting weren't immediately clear. 

The teen was taken to the hospital and last reported in stable condition. 

The suspect fled the scene and remains at large. He's described only as a black male, 6'4" tall.
