16-Year-Old Charged As An Adult In Fatal Stabbing

The stabbing happened during a graduation party

Giannfranco Delgado, a 16-year-old from Southgate, has been given an adult designation by the Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy for his role in the fatal stabbing of 17-year-old Cameron Petty at a graduation party. 

The Knights of Columbus Hall in Taylor was hosting a graduation party on July 6. At around 11 p.m., a large fight broke out. Delgato allegedly stabbed three men during the scuffle. 

Petty and two others were taken to the hospital, where Petty was pronounced dead. The other two victims were treated for their wounds and later released.

Delagado has been charged and designated as an adult for Second Degree Murder and two counts of Assault with Intent to Murder.

He is expected to be arraigned at the Wayne County Juvenile Detention Facility located at 1326 St. Antoine in Detroit at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2019 before Referee Sean Kurman.
