BROWNSTOWN (WWJ) - Two men have been ordered held without bond, charged in beating death of a man Downriver.

According to the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office, 50-year-old Michael Beaudrie of Battle Creek was killed during a fight outside a Brownstown bar back in May.

According to investigators, Beaudrie’s brother was intoxicated and accidently bumped into 26-year-old Damian Antony Willingham of Newport, Michigan. When an argument ensued in the parking lot, Willingham and his friend, 45-year-old Rickey Dale Richett of Monroe, allegedly began throwing punches.

It's alleged that Richett struck Beaudrie multiple times in the face and about the body while aided by Willingham. It is further alleged that Richett and Willingham physically assaulted Beaudrie’s brother before driving away from the scene.

Beaudrie did not survive the beating, and Willingham and Richett were arrested following an investigation by Brownstown police.

They were arraigned in 33rd District Court Thursday on charges of open murder and assault with intent to murder, prosecutors said, and remanded to jail.

Both will be back in court for a probable cause conference on January 29, followed by a preliminary exam on February 5.
