2 Wanted For Defacing Gravesite Of President Gerald Ford [PHOTOS]

GRAND RAPIDS (WWJ) - Police are asking for the public's help to identify two people wanted for defacing the grave sites of former U.S. President Gerald R. Ford and First Lady Betty Ford.

According to investigators, the vandalism took place shortly after 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27, on the property of the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library & Museum in Grand Rapids.

The pair was captured in surveillance images released by police in hopes that someone knows the suspects, which appeare to be a young man and woman. 

Although both are wearing dark clothing, the male suspect is wearing some distinctive yellowish-colored Nike shoes.

Police said both are wanted on charges of larceny of U.S. government property.

President Ford died in 2006. Betty Ford died in 2011.
