$2,000 Reward Offered After Murder Victim Pulled From Lake

June 09, 2018 - 12:24 pm

PONTIAC (WWJ) - Authorities are offering a $2,000 reward for information in the murder of a 20-year-old man whose body was pulled from an Oakland County lake.

Divers recovered the body of Emilio Valdez from Osmun Lake in Pontiac on Thursday evening shortly after he had been reported missing. Police say he was shot multiple times and then his body dumped in the lake.

Police were called to the lake, at North Kiwanis Park, after two boys found bloody clothing while they were fishing. Tire tracks led back to a pair of benches, one of which had been struck, where a blood trail and drag marks led out onto the dock, according to police.

"The investigation led our folks to determine that they needed to delve further," Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard said. "We put divers in the water and tragically, we located an individual in the lake who had been shot multiple times."

Police say Valdez was last seen getting into a black Pontiac Grand Prix, parts of which were found at the scene in the park. The vehicle, which was reported stolen, was later located in Scott Lake in Waterford Township.

No arrests have been made.
