DETROIT (WWJ) - Eight people were sent to the hospital following a crash on Detroit's lower east side involving a school bus.

The crash happened Thursday morning near the corner of East Jefferson and Harding in the Marina District.

It appears the bus was struck by two vehicles, both of which spun out after colliding with each other.

Detroit fire officials say children were on the bus at the time but none were injured. Another bus responded to the scene and took the children to school.

The victims were taken to St. John's hospital with various injuries. Conditions of those injured are unknown.

Other circumstances surrounding the crash weren't immediately clear.
