DETROIT (WWJ)  - Authorities say a man is facing charges after he was caught at the Ambassador Bridge with nearly 86 pounds of marijuana in his truck.

The bust was made on July 27 when the 40-year-old commercial truck driver was sent for a secondary examination. During the inspection, Canada Border Services Agency agents discovered 85.87 pounds of suspected marijuana in the cab of his truck.

The driver, a 40-year-old man from Markham, Ontario, was placed under arrest for importation offenses under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

The investigation is ongoing.

Although marijuana will soon become legal and regulated in Canada, it will remain illegal to take the drug across international borders, whether you are entering or leaving Canada.
