July 26, 2018 - 11:41 pm

AUBURN HILLS (WWJ) - Auburn Hills police say a man suspected of robbing a Credit Union was arrested just hours after he pulled off the crime.

Police said the suspect -- described as a white male in his 30s -- walked into the Cornerstone Community Financial Credit Union on University Dr. in Auburn Hills shortly before 1 p.m. Thursday.

He made no effort to cover his face, and was caught on security camera as he approached a teller at the counter. According to police, the suspect suspect implied he had a gun and got away with an undisclosed amount of money. No one was hurt.

The robber fled on foot, headed westbound from the bank. Officers with the assistance of a Oakland County Sheriff’s Office K9 team searched for, but couldn't track him down.

Later Thursday evening, the 38-year-old suspect was located and taken into custody in Detroit.

Police say more information will be released once the suspect is charged and arraigned.
