DETROIT (WWJ) -- A man was found dead on Belle Isle Monday morning, Michigan State Police announced on Twitter.

A DNR Conservation Officer found the man on the grass near the pond and adjacent to the fountain island. Police say she and a second responding officer administered CPR and contacted EMS.

He was confirmed dead at the hospital.

Police say there were no wittnesses and no evidence at the scene, other than his vehicle in the parking lot. The victim's cell phone, wallet and car kets were recovered.

Authorities at the hospital say there were no signs of trauma or foul play, and the likely cause of death was cardiac arrest.

The Medical Examiner's office refused the case and no autopsy was conducted.

The victim was turned over to family.
