The water is safe to drink again in Rochester Hills

ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. (WWJ) -- The water is safe to drink again in Rochester Hills, following this week's Boil Water Advisory.

The city announced the precautionary advisory for the area north of Tienken and west of Livernois roads due to the loss of water pressure in the area.

The city says results of the most recent test samples show no bacterial contamination in the system and residents can go back to using water as normal.

As a next step, residents should flush the water in their homes by running hot and cold water from all faucets for five minutes. Those with refrigerators that dispense water through the door should draw at least one gallon of water and throw away existing ice in their ice makers.
