Bond Set At $1 Million For Canton Gas Station Shooter

The suspect is charged with five counts.

CANTON, Mich. (WWJ) - Bond was set at $1 million for man who was arrested in connection with a shooting at a Canton gas station.

Police say Forrest Neal shot an acquaintance at the Valero gas station on Ford and Haggerty around 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday. He was arrested at the scene and arraigned Friday on five charges.

Neal is charged with Assault with Intent to Murder, Assault with Intent to do Great Bodily Harm Less Than Murder, Assault with a Dangerous Weapon and two counts of Felony Firearm.

Prosecutors have not said what may have led to Neal allegedly shooting his acquaintance. The victim, who was shot once, was transported to a local hospital, but an update on his condition was not available.
