Campus Alert: Student 'Touched Inappropriately' By Stranger At WCC

ANN ARBOR (WWJ) - An investigation is underway at Washtenaw Community College in Ann Arbor after a student says she was touched inappropriately by a stranger. 

A crime alert was sent to students, faculty and other staff regarding incident Monday, at around 4:40 p.m.,  on the footbridge between the Student Center (SC) and Crane Liberal Arts & Science (LA) buildings on campus. 

A spokesperson for the college told WWJ Newsradio 950 that the woman reported the incident to the WCC Public Safety Department, which launched an investigation. No injuries were reported. 

The suspect is described as a black male, 18 to 20 years old, approximately 5’9” tall and around 165 lbs., with short-cropped hair. He was wearing a red t-shirt and black shorts.

No further details about the incident were released by school officials, who are taking this as an opportunity to remind students to be aware of their surroundings at all times.
