Police: Clinton Township Man Arrested After Peeping Into Bedroom Window In Royal Oak

CLINTON TWP. (WWJ) - A Clinton Township man has been arrested, accused of peeping in a Royal Oak woman's bedroom window. 

According to Royal Oak police, just before 5 a.m. Wednesday, 47-year old Norman Korzec knocked on the window from outside the woman's home, in the 2100 block of Dallas, and then fled when she called police.

Officers arrived at the scene, in a neighborhood in the area of E. 10 Mile and Campbell Road, in time to spot the suspect as he disappeared into the backyard. He was then followed by police as he got into a vehicle down the block.

The man allegedly sped off onto I-696, where police lost sight of him.  After a description of the suspect and vehicle was broadcast to other area departments, Korzec was found by Ferndale police in a convenience store parking lot, arrested and turned over to Royal Oak police. 

Korzec was arraigned in the 44th District Court Thursday on charges of Fleeing and Eluding a Police Officer - second degree, a 10 year felony; as well one misdemeanor count of Trespassing, when carries a penalty of 93 days in jail. 

According to investigators, Korzec has a criminal history which includes convictions for Home Invasion, Window Peeping, Indecent Exposure, Resisting Arrest, Domestic Violence, and Receiving and Concealing Stolen Property.

Korzec was ordered held on a $50,000 cash bond, no 10 percent, pending his next court appearance scheduled for August 28.
