DETROIT (WWJ) - A man is being treated at a local hospital after being hit by a stray bullet in Detroit.

According to Detroit police, the 36-year-old Detroit resident was driving on McNichols near Livernois, at around 10:15 p.m. Wednesday, when he heard gunfire. He then felt a pain in his arm, police said, and looked to find he'd been shot.

The victim's wife and 3-year-old child were also in the car, but they were not hurt.

Investigators who responded to the scene found several shell casings in the area.

No arrests have been made and no suspects have been described as an investigation continues.
