June 17, 2019 - 5:01 pm

CLINTON TWP. (WWJ) - A 28-year-old man is jailed on multiple charges after he led police on a chase through Macomb County.

It all began Sunday afternoon, police said, when a Clinton Township officer running radar allegedly caught Aniano Arreola-Mora of Ray Township speeding in a 2003 tan Cadillac on 19 Mile near Garfield.

The officer activated his lights and siren, then following the suspect northbound on Dalcoma where police say he threw four packages out the driver’s side door.

The chase continued into Sterling Heights on 19 Mile and then north on Van Dyke to 26 Mile Rd, down 27 Mile to Teller Rd. to 28 Mile and then southbound on Ray Center Rd., where the suspect drove onto a muddy lawn outside a home and got stuck.

He was arrested by Clinton Township Police and Macomb County Sheriff's deputies and lodged Clinton Township Police Department. No one was injured in this pursuit.

The packages he'd tossed, which were picked up by another officer, tested positive for cocaine, police said.

Arreola-Mora was arraigned Monday on charges of fleeing police, drug possession, driving without his license revoked or suspended and having an open alcohol container in his vehicle.

Bond was set at $5,000/10%.
