SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WWJ) -- The family of a Detroit rapper who was killed a year ago Monday is calling for help in search of answers.

Dominique Brown, 26, was traveling eastbound along I-94 near Livernois on July 30, 2017, in her white Chrysler 200 when shots were fired, killing the mother of two, as well as fellow rapper Ramell Campbell.

Brown's mother, Bertha Matthews said at a press conference Monday she wishes Michigan State Police would release any sort of information regarding the shooting. Matthews says she and her family do not know what kind of car the suspects were driving or where her daughter was coming from, but she is pleading for the public's help.

"I literally do not know anything. I don’t know where the shooting started; the only thing I know is where it ended,” Matthews said.

As Brown's family continues to search for answers, Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $3,500 for the tip leading to an arrest in the case. Tipsters will remain anonymous.

Brown's cousin Kai Hodge says it hurts to see her daughters without a mother.

Matthews is also raising money for similar cases.

“I know in my heart, that’s something my daughter would want because she was a giver. She was truly a giver,” Matthews said. “Help me. Because we need help. My daughter did not deserve to have her life taken away and leave two children behind.”

Another cousin, Paradise Holloway, says if anyone knows anything about the murder, they should do what's right.

“At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter about being a snitch," Holloway said. "What’s right is right, what’s wrong is wrong. Somebody please speak up.”
