DENVER (WWJ/AP) - A flight from Detroit to Denver had to be evacuated after landing Tuesday night at Denver International Airport.

Firefighters greeted Delta Air Lines flight 1854 when it landed around 8 p.m.  Airport spokeswoman Emily Williams says passengers reported smoke filled the cabin as the plane was taxiing to the gate.

"We were actually on the taxiway in the plane and making our way to a gate when it started filling with smoke," said Jim McManus, who was on the flight.

One passenger tweeted that fumes came through the vents and it smelled like an electrical fire.

The airline says passengers had to deplane using slides Williams said no major injuries were reported from smoke inhalation, but she has heard that a handful of passengers suffered minor injuries during the evacuation.

One person was taken to an area hospital with no word on their condition.
