WYANDOTTE (WWJ) - A Detroit-area boater was arrested after causing a scene and fleeing police in Wyandotte.

According to Wyandotte police, the 65-year-old Detroit man pulled his boat up to an "upscale" riverside restaurant with "six bikini-clad women, all half his age."

They became upset after being refused service and were asked to leave by staff because they were all reportedly too intoxicated.

The man and his entourage are accused of hurling insults and threats at random customers and staff before "cranking the boat radio up to intentionally annoy everyone," police said.

When officers arrived, the man then allegedly ignored commands to get off the boat and instead took off on the Detroit River, waiving his middle finger in the air.

The Wayne County Marine Division was able to catch up with him and he was taken into custody near the Ambassador Bridge.

Further details, including he man's name any charges filed, were not immediately released. No injuries were reported.
