Detroit Police Looking For Driver Who Struck Walking Woman, Fled Scene

A 30-year-old woman was walking to her car when she was struck

DETROIT (WWJ) -- Detroit police are asking for the public's help in identifying and locating an unknown suspect wanted in connection with a hit-and-run accident on the city's west side earlier this month that left a woman in critical condition.

Authorities say around 4:20 a.m. on Dec. 16 a 30-year-old female was walking in the 14700 block of Schaefer Highway when she was struck by a vehicle.

The woman was reportedly walking to her vehicle when a black four-door sedan traveling southbound on Schaefer came by and hit her. The driver did not stop and continued traveling southbound.

The victim was transported to the hospital and listed in critical condition.

Video shows the vehicle driving south on Schaefer then west on Lyndon Street.

Police are asking for help in locating the vehicle, which they say will have front end damage.
