Detroit Police Search For Man Missing Since Last Weekend

March 24, 2018 - 7:59 am

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are again asking the public for help locating a 49-year-old man who has been missing for about a week now.

Larry Melton was last seen Sunday, March 18 in the 18000 block of Bloom, near Nevada and Mound Road on the east side, where he rents a room with family. He missed work  that night and then again on Monday, police say, and no one in the family has heard from him.

Melton's father -- who last spoke with him on March 16  -- and Melton's son both told police that they usually speak to Melton on a daily basis, and his lack of communication has them worried for his well-being.

Melton is described as a black male with dark skin and a bald head. He is around 5'10'' tall and 225 lbs., has his left ear pierced and a Sagittarius tattoo on his right bicep. Police say he is believed to be in good mental and physical shape.

Anyone who has seen this missing man or who knows of his whereabouts is asked to call Detroit police at 313-596-1140 or 313-596-1100.
