DETROIT (WWJ) -- Detroit police are asking for the public's help in identifying and locating a pair of known suspects wanted in connection to a non-fatal shooting on the city's west side.

Authorities say shortly before 7 p.m. Tuesday a 26-year-old male victim got into an argument with two other men -- William Powell and Tremaine Davis -- inside a liquor store in the 20000 block of W. 7 Mile Road. Police say during the argument Powell pulled out a gun and aimed it at the victim.

Powell and Davis both walked out of the store following the argument and the victim followed behind them, police say.

The argument continued outside and Powell reportedly fired a shot at the victim, striking him. The victim then pulled out a gun of his own and returned fire. It is unknown if either suspect was hit.

Police say the suspects fled the scene of foot, heading southbound on Heyden Street.

The victim was transported privately to a local hospital for treatment, where authorities say he is in critical condition.

Police are asking anyone who recognizes the suspects in the video to contact the Detroit Police Department's Eighth Precinct at 313-596-5840, or CRIMESTOPPERS at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.

Powell is described as about 6-foot, 175 lbs. He was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt, red baseball cap and dark blue jeans. Authorities describe Davis as 5-feet-tall, around 150 lbs. He was wearing a black jacket and black pants, and has a goatee.
