Man Uses Industrial Truck To Break Into Business; Detroit Police Seeking Tips

DETROIT (WWJ) -- Police are searching for a suspect in connection with a breaking and entering of a local business on Detroit's west side.

Police say shortly before 6 a.m. on Aug. 5, an unknown suspect rammed an industrial truck through the rear wall of a business in the 18700 block of W. Warren Avenue.

The man took an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register and fled the location north on Stahelin Avenue.

The truck was recovered a day later at Whitlock and Southfield Road.

Police say the suspect was seen at a nearby gas station shortly before the incident, where security cameras caught his face. Police released video and photos of the man.

Authorities are asking anyone who recognizes the suspect, knows of his whereabouts or has any other information regarding the incident to contact the Detroit Police Department's Sixth Precinct at 313-596-5640.
