DETROIT (WWJ) - Police are asking for tips as they search for a suspect in a critical hit-and-run crash on Detroit's west side.

According to investigators, a man in his 20s was on foot on 7 Mile Road -- east of Telegraph Road, near Appleton -- at around 10:40 p.m. Monday when he was struck by an SUV.

As seen on HD video from a camera at a Project Green light location, the driver hit the brakes after hitting the pedestrian. However, police said the driver did not stop at the scene,

Officers from the Eighth Precinct responded, but couldn't find the suspect, believed to have continued driving east on W. 7 Mile, then driving through another Green Light location, before fleeing the area east on W. 7 Mile.

The name of the victim, who was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, has not been released.
