DETROIT (WWJ) -- Detroit police are asking for the public's health in finding a woman who went missing from the city's northwest side Friday.

A serious missing person alert was issued for Sharon Garrett, who was last seen by her daughter at approximately 4:30 p.m. Friday at their home in the 19100 block of Lenore.

Garrett's daughter reported that she went to sleep at 4:30 p.m. and when she woke up at 5:30 p.m., her mother was gone.

The only description of Garrett given by police is that she is a 58-year old black female. She was last seen wearing a blue t-shirt with "Fine Arts" written on the front of it, blue jeans, gray shoes, and multicolored socks.

She is in good physical condition, but she suffers from dementia, according to her daughter.

If anyone has seen Sharon Garnett, they are asked to call the Detroit Police Department's Eighth Precinct at 313-596-5800.
