(WWJ) Detroit police say a woman was lying when she told them her young child was in her car when it was carjacked.

And now she's face charges.

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged 32-year-old Domanique Marie Rezende with one count of filing a false report of a child abduction. She was arraigned 36th District Court Monday afteroon, and ordered held on a $7,500/10 percent bond.

Rezende on Saturday told officers she had left her 4-year old son in the car around 2:30 p.m. while she went into the New Urban Beauty Supply Store along Joy near Greenfield.

She left her keys in the ignition and the motor running; and when she came out, Rezende reported, both the car and child were gone.

An investigation determined that the car was missing but the child was never in the vehicle. He was with his grandmother, police said, who is his legal guardian. The mother was taken into custody.

As an investigation continues, police said they are still looking for the suspect (seen in the photo above) who allegedly stole the vehicle; and may, or may not, have been involved in the mother's plot.

The suspect is described as a black male wearing a black skull cap and black sweatpants with a stripes along the side of the legs. Anyone with information is asked to call the Detroit Police Department's Sixth Precinct at 313-596-5600 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP (1-800-773-2587).

Rezende will be back in court for a probable cause conference on April 23.
