Driver Killed After Crashing Into Detroit Coffee Shop

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are investigating the cause of a fatal crash on the city's west side Saturday night.

Police telling WWJ that a 39-year-old man lost control of his vehicle near Fenkell and Sorrento streets. The car, with Pennsylvania plates, was speeding before losing control and slamming into a coffee shop according to authorities. 

The driver, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene. 

No one inside the business was hurt.

It's unclear whether a second vehicle was involved.
