DTE Energy Crews Work To Restore Power To Remaining Customers

It was a spring storm that left 390,000 in the dark

DETROIT (WWJ) - DTE Energy says they've restored power to 99 percent of their customers impacted by the weekend storm.

There are still about 5,000 customers without electricity and the energy company says those are in smaller pockets and are more complex jobs and that crews from several states remain on the job to get them back on the grid. DTE expects to have these outages restored by the end of the day Thursday.

Sunday's storm left 390,000 customers in the dark. Consumers Energy had 130,000 customers effected by outages and power was restored to most by Monday night.

More than 250 miles of new power lines have been put in place over the last four days says DTE.

The storm set the stage for flooding -- with flood warnings in effect for parts of Saginaw County and flood advisories in other areas. In the metro Detroit area a mix of rain and snow is in the forecast through Thursday.
