Father, Son Killed In Crash Along I-75

BROWNSTOWN TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - A father and son from New Jersey were killed in a multi-vehicle crash along I-75 in Brownstown Township overnight.

The six car crash happened just before 11 p.m. Friday along northbound I-75 near Dix Toledo Road. 

Michigan State Police say a commercial vehicle struck a passenger vehicle, killing the two occupants inside.

The News & Observer identified the victims as 20-year-old Zach Attianese, a former North Carolina pitcher and his 61-year-old father, Jude. Reports say that Zach was going to continue his promising career in baseball at Florida State University.

Four other vehicles were damaged as a result of the collision.

Both directions of I-75 were shut down until 6:30 a.m. Saturday as police were investigating the scene.

An investigation is ongoing.
