ZeroZeroZero is an Amazon Prime original series

DETROIT (WWJ) - If you're looking for something to watch this weekend, look no further than Amazon Prime.  Nothing new about that, right?  Because everybody knows there's tons to watch on Amazon.  But, there's a new limited 'crime drama' series that just started streaming on Amazon, and it's a good one.  It's ZeroZeroZero, inspired by the book of the same title from best-selling author Roberto Saviano.

ZeroZeroZero opens in Calabria, Italy, where viewers see members of a powerful Italian crime syndicate preparing to buy a massive shipment of cocaine.  When there are problems with the shipment, everyone in this massive network is affected, including a U.S. business that, from the outside, looks completely legal.  With millions of dollars at stake, a power battle ensues, with numerous lives hanging in the balance.

There are several twists in the first episode that I didn't see coming, and I simply cannot wait to see what's coming up in episode number two.

Referring back to the premiere episode, one of my favorite lines is: "What happens when you've got nothing left to give?  When you're no longer useful?"  I'm certainly looking forward to finding out.

On a side note, there's no need to worry if you don't speak Italian, or Spanish for that matter.  The series uses subtitles, but they're not one bit distracting.

See you at the movies!

Be sure to tune in to WWJ Newsradio 950 every Friday for my weekly look at the movies.
