KANSAS CITY (WWJ) -- A flight out of Detroit Metro Airport was forced to make an emergency landing in Kansas City Monday.

Delta Flight 923 crews reported an engine problem to air traffic control as they approached their destination.

The flight was supposed to land at Kansas City International Airport anyway, and when it did, it was greeted by fire crews who sprayed one of the rear-mounted engines with foam.

There were 117 people on board. No injuries have been reported.
