FLAT ROCK (WWJ) - Production at the Ford Flat Rock Assembly plant, where the Mustang is made, stopped overnight after an accident involving a worker.

According to a Ford spokesperson, a female employee somehow got her leg pinned in machinery around 1 a.m. Friday.

The woman, whose name was not released, was taken by EMS to a local hospital for treatment. No details about her injuries have been released, and her condition is unknown at this time.

It's unclear what caused the accident, but a source speaking to WWJ Newsradio 950 said it is believed safety protocols were either bypassed or malfunctioned.

In a statement, Ford says the safety and security of everyone in the company's plants is the highest priority and it has launched an investigation.
