WWJ -- It may be the final day of May, but it won't feel like it Friday morning.

The National Weather service issued a Frost Advisory for 17 counties in the northern Lower and eastern Upper Peninsulas from 2 a.m. until 8 a.m. Friday.

The counties impacted by the Frost Advisory include Emmet, Cheboygan, Presque Isle, Antrim, Otsego, Montmorency, Alpena, Kalkaska, Crawford, Oscoda, Wexford, Missaukee, Roscommon, Ogemaw, Chippewa, Mackinac and Charlevoix.

The NWS says temperatures will drop into the low to mid 30s overnight inland from the Great Lakes.

Sensitive vegetation may be damaged or killed if not covered, brought indoors, or otherwise protected from the cold conditions.

Michigan’s fruit crop shouldn’t be damaged, as temperatures at tree height should stay above freezing.

While temperatures are expected to drop, it won't come close to Michigan's lowest recorded temperature in the month of may -- a brutal 8 degrees.
