GM Owners Can Share Cars, Make Money With Maven Service

July 24, 2018 - 9:36 am

DETROIT (WWJ) - It's a new idea regarding car sharing. General Motors has started a new pilot program in Detroit, Ann Arbor and Chicago that involves car buyers sharing their new vehicles with others.

Executives with the peer-to-peer Maven car-sharing service say it's a way for owners to generate money from their car when they're not using it.

Those who want to be involved must have a personal Chevrolet, Buick, GMC or Cadillac car or truck model year 2015 and newer.

During reservations, all vehicles are insured through GM’s $1,000,000 insurance policy and every driving member is thoroughly vetted before they are approved to the service.
