DEARBORN (WWJ) - Ford is recalling some brand new pickups and SUVs, and expanding a previous recall, due to issues with welding on engine parts.

The vehicles involved in the new recall include 2018 model F-150, Expedition and Lincoln Navigator vehicles, all with with 3.5-liter V6 engines. The recalled vehicles have inadequate welds on the fuel pump, which could lead to fuel or oil leaks and cause a fire. Ford is not aware of any fires, accidents or injuries related to the issue.

The automaker is also expanding a recall involving 2017 and 2018 Edge, 2017 and 2018 Fusion and 2017 Lincoln MKZ vehicles. The automobiles may have improper welds in their torque converters, which could cause drivers to lose control of their vehicles. There have been no injuries reported.

In both cases, dealers will perform repairs at no cost to the customer.
