PONTIAC (WWJ) - An investigation is underway in Pontiac after a USPS post office was struck by gunfire.

The Oakland County Sheriff's Office responded to the location, in the 700 block of West Huron Street, just after 4 p.m. Monday on reports of shots fired.

Deputies found two windows blown out and a third with an obvious bullet hole in it. It's unknown if the post office was the intended target.

There were postal workers and two customers inside the building at the time, but no injuries were reported.

No arrests have been made and no suspects have been named or described.

The sheriff's office said investigators with the U.S. Postmaster General’s Office were contacted and are handling the ongoing investigation.
