DETROIT (WWJ) - Fourteen years after "The Incredibles" arrived in theaters, Disney-Pixar brings "Incredibles 2" to the big screen.  What took so long is anybody's guess, but for fans of the first film, it's safe to say, it was 14 years too long because the highly-anticipated sequel was definitely worth waiting for.

"Incredibles 2" is just as much fun as the first film and it features the same cast of characters that moviegoers came to know and love: Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl, Violet, Dash, Jack-Jack, Lucius Best aka Frozone, and of course, Edna.  They're joined this time around by some newcomers, including the brother and sister team of Winston and Evelyn Deavor.

In "Incredibles 2," Elastigirl goes up against Screenslaver, while Mr. Incredible takes care of things on the home front.  Part of his responsibilities are to help his young son, Dash, with his homework.

While Dash's math homework is challenging, that's the least of Bob's worries.  But watching the family navigate between everyday life and the superhero world is what makes this movie so much fun.
If you're a fan of The Incredibles ... and who isn't ... you'll want to get your tickets to Incredibles 2 ASAP, if you haven't already done so.   Fandango says ticket sales are so brisk, it has surpassed "Finding Dory" and is now the site's number one advanced ticket seller for an animated film.

See you at the movies!
