(WWJ) A manhunt is underway in one Detroit neighborhood after police in Southfield say the suspect hit a squad car as an officer tried to pull him over near Nine Mile Road and Providence.

He then allegedly fled down the Southfield Freeway to Linden and Penrod -- near West Chicago -- where he got out of the car and began running. Officers with tracking dogs are now out in that area.

Both Southfield and Detroit police want the man behind bars.

The suspect is believed to be still roaming around the city, sticking to the area near Linden and Penrod and West Chicago.

A woman who was a passenger inside the car is in custody. A long gun and a pistol were both confiscated.
