At Least 1 Person Seriously Injured In Canton Rollover Crash

July 16, 2018 - 3:24 pm

CANTON TWP. (WWJ) - At least one person was seriously injured, according to police, in a crash that shut down a Canton Township intersection for several hours.

Drivers, early Monday afternoon, were asked to avoid the area of Warren and Lilley roads -- south of Joy Road and west of Haggerty -- while police were continuing to investigate the accident, which happened Monday morning.

Shortly before 3 p.m., the Canton Public Safety Department issued an update saying its Accident Investigation Team had cleared the scene and the intersection was back open to traffic.

Police are not sharing many details at this point, other than that the crash involved two vehicles, one of which rolled over -- resulting in at least one serious injury.

Tipsters told WWJ Newsradio 950 that first responders from police and fire earlier were seen working diligently to rescue those involved.

No details about the injured person or persons have been released.
