FARMINGTON (WWJ) - Police are investigating after a lockdown at Farmington High School on Friday.

The school went on lockdown after a 40-caliber magazine of bullets was found morning. A letter sent to parents said dministrators didn't feel that students were in any danger.

The lock down was lifted after about two hours. It's unclear who owns the bullets.

During the lockdown, students were telling their parents that they had to put their backpacks in the hallway and go back into their classrooms.

While the lockdown was precautionary and there turned out to be no threat, junior Latran Wyrick says in the moment, you can't assume anything.

"You can't play it like it's just some game," Wyrick said. "You never know what could happen. You never know what a kid could be going through, never know what a kid could be thinking. You never know. You always keep yourself prepared for something like this.

Farmington High School is located along Shiawassee Street just west of Orchard Lake Road.
