Man Accused Of Shooting Up Home Facing 23 Charges

DETROIT (WWJ) - A Detroit man arrested for firing several shots into a home on the city's west side earlier this week is facing nearly two dozen charges.

Police took 29-year old Robert McLendon into custody Wednesday morning shortly after he fired into a home on Hazelwood Street, near Dexter and Joy. Three women were inside; they were not hurt. No motive for the shooting has been revealed.  

McLendon fled after the shooting but was eventually located by police and apprehended. A handgun and a magazine were also recovered in the area by the police.

McLendon is reportedly connected to several shootings in the city dating back to July.

McLendon was arraigned Friday in 36th District Court on the following charges: four counts of assault with intent to murder, two counts of carrying a dangerous weapon with unlawful intent, eight counts of discharging a firearm at a building; one count of delivery/manufacture cocaine less than 50 grams, and eight counts of felony firearm. He was remanded to jail. A probable cause hearing is set for Dec. 14, with a preliminary examination scheduled for Dec. 21.
