WEST BLOOMFIELD (WWJ) - A 46-year-old man has been arrested after allegedly breaking into Red Coat Tavern in West Bloomfield.

The Oakland County Sheriff's Office says Jermaine Wright -- who wanted for robberies throughout Oakland County -- was arrested by Southfield police on Sunday following an investigation by a multi-jurisdictional task force including West Bloomfield, Farmington Hills and Novi police.

According to investigators, Wright smashed out the glass to an exterior door at the popular burger joint, on Orchard Lake Rd. south of Maple Rd., and then used a sledgehammer to get through a second door, and into the restaurant.

Officials say more than $1,700 in cash, along with burglary tools and a black mask, were recovered from his vehicle.

Wright, who police believe is also responsible for several other breaking-and-entering and ATM thefts, was arraigned in West Bloomfield's 48th District Court on one 10-year felony count of breaking and entering in connection with the Red Coat incident.

He remains held in the Oakland County Jail on a $100,000/10 percent bond as an investigation continues.
