What was he after?

(WWJ) A Warren man faces serious charges after he allegedly tried to break into a Detroit Police building. It's unclear what he was looking for.

What is clear is that police say they first spotted the man trying to squeeze onto the property through a gap in the fence created by the locked security chain.

He succeeded. Then he was watched as he approached the building and started climbing in through a window.

That's when police intervened. The suspect allegedly tried to get away, but he was caught.

Prosecutors have charged Archie Howell, 52, of Warren with breaking an entering and resisting arrest.

The incident unfolded Thursday afternoon in the area of Merill Plaisance Street near Woodward.
