Authorities: Man Climbed Through Bedroom Window, Raped Resident

DETROIT (WWJ) - A Detroit man is jailed on multiple felony charges, accused of breaking into a woman's home, raping and robbing her. 

According to the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office, at 4 a.m. on April 27, 30-year-old Christopher Hightower climbed through the victim's bedroom window in the 12000 block of Stringham Court in Detroit. 

once in the house, he allegedly gestured as if he had a gun and then sexually assaulted the resident, a 56-year-old woman. Hightower is also accused of taking personal property from the victim before fleeing the scene. 

Following an investigation by the Detroit Police Department, Hightower was arrested and charged with two counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct First Degree, one count of Home Invasion First Degree and one count of Armed Robbery.

According to Michigan Department of Corrections records, Hightower was out on parole when these crimes were committed, having served prison time for a 2006 armed robbery conviction. 

He is due in 36th District Court for an arraignment Friday morning.
