Man Kidnapped, Stuffed In Trunk Of Own Car Overnight In Detroit

The suspects reportedly stole his car and an unknown amount of cash

DETROIT (WWJ) -- A 33-year-old man was reportedly ambushed, kidnapped and stuffed in the trunk of his own car after a late night at the bars.

Police tell WWJ a the man was at an unnamed after-hours venue on the city's east side early Sunday morning.

Police say the carjacking and kidnapping took place shortly before 2:30 a.m. in the 1700 block of East McNichols road, just east of I-75.

The victim says he was at the after-hours bar when five men attacked him and put him in the trunk of his own 2016 Lexus.

The suspects then allegedly drove him to an unknown location, forced him out of the vehicle and fled the scene.

No injuries were reported, but the suspects got away with the car and an unknown amount of cash.

There is no detailed description available for any of the suspects.

Police stress that all the information is preliminary and is subject to change in the investigation.
