Man Ordered Held Without Bond In Clinton Township Double Slaying

September 10, 2018 - 4:50 pm

MT. CLEMENS (WWJ) - A 24-year-old Clinton Township man has been ordered held without bond, charged in the slaying of his sister and her boyfriend.

WWJ's Jon Hewett reports Robert Leo Marzejka said little as he was arraigned in  via video Monday, on two counts of first degree premeditated murder, and a not guilty plea was entered on his behalf.

Clinton Township police said the bodies of 18-year-old Danielle Marzejka and 19-year-old Seren Bryan were found August 26 in garbage bags behind a shed in the Rudgate Clinton mobile home park, in the area of Metro Parkway and Groesbeck Hwy., after the teens were reported missing by the young woman's father the previous day.

While Robert Marzejka told police he'd discovered the bodies, investigators believe he's the one who did the killing.

The suspect then fled to Ohio where he was captured by US Marshals after several days on the run

"I often wonder how one person can do something so heinous to another person," one neighbor, Sherry -- who has lived on the same street for 15 years -- told Hewett. " And I can't imagine another person killing two people at the same time."

Robert Marzejka remains jailed awaiting a probable cause conference scheduled for September 17.

Police have not publicly discussed a cause of death for the victims, or a motive for the killings.
