Man With Pockets Full Of Marijuana Struck By Car On I-94

June 26, 2018 - 9:20 am

ROSEVILLE (WWJ) - A section of I-94 in Roseville has reopened following a multi-vehicle crash overnight.

Michigan State Police say the incident happened around 2 a.m. Tuesday after a man crashed his car on eastbound I-94 at the 13 Mile Road overpass.

Police say the man attempted to run across the freeway from his "untitled, unregistered, uninsured motor vehicle with his pockets filled with marijuana packaged for delivery," when he was struck by another vehicle.

After the collision, traffic was slowing to a stop when another vehicle swerved to avoid the man and struck his vehicle instead.

The man was taken to the hospital and last said to be in critical condition. Police say a warrant request will be submitted for fleeing the crash and delivery of marijuana.

Eastbound I-94 was closed between 12 Mile and Little Mack for several hours, but has since reopened to traffic.
