Man Wanted In Attack Outside Store In Downtown Detroit [PHOTO]

DETROIT (WWJ) - Police are asking for the public's help to identify a suspect in an assault in downtown Detroit. 

The attack occurred on the 4th of July at around 11 p.m., according to police, as the 53-year-old victim was leaving a convenience store in the 2000 block of Woodward Ave. at W. Adams Rd.

The victim told investigators he was walking behind a group of men when one of them approach the him, striking him in the left eye with an unknown object.

The injured man was taken by EMS to a local hospital in serious condition.  

No further details have been released, including a possible motive for the attack, an investigation continues. 

Anyone who recognizes the suspect, seen in a security camera image released Friday, knows of his whereabouts or who has any information that could help investigators with this case is asked to call the DPD's Third Precinct at 313-596-1340.
