He should be considered dangerous, police say

LAKE ORION (WWJ) - An Ohio man is on the run after allegedly beating a northern Oakland County resident with a baseball bat.

According to police, the assault took place at the victim's Lake Orion home just before 4 a.m. Friday, after the suspect -- who's from the Cincinnati area -- was "abandoned," or left behind, by his group of friends earlier this week.

The victim took the man in, police said, giving him a place to stay until he could make arrangements to get back to Ohio.  Police did not offer details as to what led up to the alleged assault, which left the homeowner in serious condition.

The suspect has been identified as 41-year-old Mark Rinier, II, who goes by the name "Prince." He is described as a white male, 5’11” tall and 220 lbs with short cropped brown hair and blue eyes. He has a tattoo of a pyramid on one of his arms and may be wearing a white t-shirt and long dark-colored shorts.

Police say he may approach people for money or a place to stay. He is not believed to be armed but should be considered dangerous.

Investigators have released three photos of the man in hopes that someone has seen him.

Anyone who has information on his location of this man, or comes in contact with him is asked to not approach, but call 911 or Lake Orion Police at 248-858-4911.
