May 22, 2018 - 11:50 am

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are searching for a gunman wanted in a double murder on the city's east side.

Investigators say it all appears to be connected to a family conflict that boiled over in 11400 block of College Street, near Gratiot Avenue and Conner Street.

The bodies of  his 45-year-old cousin and 38-year-old girlfriend were found Monday evening. Both had been shot to death.

According to police, the shooter has been identified as 31-year-old Courtney Joel Hudson. A photo was released to the media Tuesday in hopes that someone in the public has seen him.

Police are also urging Hudson to turn himself in if he is monitoring media outlets.

“We are actively pursuing him and asking if he’s monitoring your media outlet that he surrender himself to eliminate any further danger to anybody in the public or any officers," Detroit Police Homicide Captain Mike McGuinness said.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect or has any other information on his whereabouts is asked to contact police at 313-596-2260. Tips can also be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
